The Café Chronicles - Beachfront 32
If you know me, you know that Beachfront 32 is my favourite cafe. My husband and I like to walk on Kingston Beach and this cafe is perfectly located for a tasty breakfast, or quick coffee, before our walk.
Beachfront 32 32 Osbourne Esplanade Kingston Beach. Tasmania
Nestled alongside the beautiful Kingston Beach, Beachfront 32 is an easy 10-minute drive south of Hobart.
Ambience:
With its mix of industrial polished concrete floors, on-trend lighting and bespoke timber bar, Beachfront 32 is a comfortable mix of funky and familiar.
Seating:
A selection of high tops, individual tables, a communal table and a cosy couch corner mean that every possible variation of seating is provided for inside the café.
And with covered and heated outdoor seating, you can sit outside and enjoy the sea air, even on the coldest of days
Menu:
Breakfast all day makes this one of my favourite places to eat, but the menu items also include fresh fish, juicy burgers and a range of both familiar dishes and new and interesting items.
A dinner menu is available in the evenings
Ordered:
I ordered Eggs Benedict and Mark got the Pea and Corn fritters with poached egg and haloumi, with bacon added (a man after my own heart!)
As a brutal hollandaise sauce snob, I’m happy to report that the sauce was lovely and creamy, with just the right amount of tang. The bacon was plentiful and cooked to just the right degree of crispiness and the eggs, sitting atop a slice of sourdough, were poached perfectly.
The dish was nestled on a bed of peppery rocket and finished off with a balsamic reduction.
The Pea and Corn fritter made a welcome change from the usual offering of bread, sourdough bread or more bread and again the eggs were poached beautifully.
The haloumi and avocado made a lovey contrast against the earthiness of the chickpeas on the side, and the yoghurt sauce delivered just the right amount of creaminess.
As you can see, both meals were presented beautifully and had generous servings.
Drinks:
The Big Fella had his usual cappuccino and says that the coffee at Beachfront is some of the best he’s had…and that man knows his coffee.
I had a spiced chai latte with soy milk and it was delicious. Soy milk can be tricky, but they nail it.
Try:
The breakfast Canadian Waffles look divine, if you're after a touch of indulgence.
My son swears by the Carnivorous Parmi and I love to nibble on the Salt and Pepper Squid.
The smoothies are to die for as well.
