The Café Chronicles - Crack Kitchen
Crack Kitchen 13 Franklin Street
Adelaide. SA. 5000
Open: 7 days
On my recent trip to Adelaide, I HAD to head to Crack Kitchen, and I'm so glad that I did!
Formerly a Bank of Adelaide, Crack Kitchen is now focused on quality food and coffee, serving
time-poor office workers during the week and the leisurely brunch set on weekends.
Coffee is seasonally roasted and blended on site from our roastery on the mezzanine level of the building.
Ambience:
The interior if this building, with it's wide open spaces and soaring ceiling, is bright, open and airy.
The addition of natural timbers and plenty of greenery makes it welcoming and comfortable as well as on point, style-wise.
Seating:
There are many tables, in various layouts inside, along with some outdoor seating, which I chose.
Menu:
Funky twists on what have become fresh and healthy stand-by's, along with some original dishes made choosing my breakfast super tricky.
Ordered:
I was dining alone and ordered "The Mortgage" which was smashed avo on multgrain sourdough, with poached eggs, sliced radshish, mixed seeds and a DIVINE beetroot and balsamic relish. So good. In fact, I was tempted to ask what the secret ingredient in the relish was because I could have eaten a bowl of that alone.
Drinks:
I had a cappucchino for a change, made with their house blend of coffee that was so good that I bought a bag to take home as a gift to my main man.
Try:
Next time I'm in town, I'm dragging my bestie there so that I can try the cumin roasted pumpkin with rocket, feta, pepita and pine nut salad, poached eggs and lemon hummus and I can make her go for the vanilla bean pancakes with wattleseed icecream, coffee syrup, salted candied walnuts, berries and seasonal fruits.
