Smooth as Silk - DIY Moisturiser.
I have been making my own skin products for some time and started off making salves, which are lovely and rich but felt a bit too greasy on my skin.
I was reading The Garden Apothecary by Reece Carter and he talked about using emulsifying wax to create a lotion instead of a salve.
Mind. Blown.
This is so rich and creamy, yet absorbs into your skin fabulously.
The skin healing and repairing essential oils leave your face nourished and supported.

Ingredients
90 grams of oil of choice
(Jojoba, FCO, Sweet Almond or Coconut Oil)
180 grams of water
30 grams of emulsifying wax
1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
5 drops of Frankincense essential oil
5 drops of Lavender essential oil
5 drops of Copiba essential oil
5 drops of Manuka essential oil
Method
Using two glass measuring jugs and two saucepans, place one jug in each pot and
half fill the pots with boiling water.
Place the oils and emulsifying wax into one jug and the water into the other.
Gently heat the contents until the wax and oil have melted and combined.
Using a temperature gauge, check the temperatures of each jug.
Both jugs need to be at or close to 70 degrees Celcius
Once that point is reached, pour the oil into the mixing jar of a handheld blender.
Start blending while steadily adding the water, similar to making mayonnaise.
The contents will emulsify, but will still be thin and runny.
Let the mixture cool, blitzing it again on occasion.
Add the essential oils once the mixture has cooled, before the final blend.
Store in a pump bottle.
